Masonry vaults of Sanctuary of Monteortone

In the aim of the restoration interventions of the Our Lady of Health Sanctuary in Monteortone, a specific analysis has been required in order to evaluate the structural behaviour of the masonry cross vaults, which showed several cracks and deformations, caused by foundation settlement that affected the columns.

Using a 3D laser scanner survey, a detailed FEM model of the vaults has been developed, which allowed the study of the structural behaviour, by linear and non-linear analysis, and the design of the consolidation interventions.
